īut mostly just Fuji Jpeg, they are great! Use the RAW more and more only for secure. Silky Pix, but might change to Macphun's new one Luminar.

IRIDIENT X TRANSFORMER AND FUJIFILM FILM SIMULATION ISO
LR6.1 provided a significant improvement in X-Trans processing and the latest version, LR 6.7, does the job very well, provided care is taken not to use the Amount slider above 30 and to keep the NR Color slider to zero unless it is absolutely needed for very high ISO shots. I currently use Lightroom though, as I do everything else there, and I like the simplicity of doing everything in the one place.Īs photobyleigh said, Lightroom has improved, however I'm still frustrated when I have a foliage-heavy photo that I just can't get to look right I've tried Silkypix, and was very impressed

I know that few will agree with me here, but the Fuji film simulations are not much to have if you know how to use LR presets. I only shoot RAW and never use my cameras for editing. In LR 5.7 the Fuji film simulations are included. I love the film simulations which cannot be mimicked by LR. I use the in-camera RAW converter and it works fine. I use LR 5.7 and for most part use "free presets" that I fond on the web. Lightroom has the option to convert Fuji RAF files to DNG, which I can also edit using Photoshop Elements 8, (which I have not ever updated).

Finally, it was possible to carry out edits using Lightroom 6, which I use most, after a routine update from Adobe.

When I got my X30 in October 2014, Silkypix was the only Raw converter that would work, although I found it to be a bit cumbersome to use, Shortly afterwards, after an update, I could edit Raw files using Cyberlink, which was a more familiar interface and workflow. LR seems to be the optimum choice for me at the moment. I also have a few other plugins and they aren't yet compatible with Capture One. But i have a huge library of photos and I think LR does it better at managing it. I love the results from Capture One more. The results are not that worse some do think.ĭCRAW, RawTherapee, Photoninja to convert to TIFF than adobe for final touches for landscapes and other styles that I want most details out from the photo. I tried other programs and every time I did come back to Lightroom. Overall more natural than the OOC's (which is no little feat I think). CO did a wonderful job bringing those to live: sharper than OOC, but also a bit more noise (after all a choice). I had some raw pictures taken at ISO 6400. It has a nice profile for Velvia like processing as well. I used Iridient, which can do some beautiful things, especially for low ISO/low noise pictures. I decided to abandon Adobe because my 'eternal license' for CS6 was cancelled (some issues with the provider I bought it from).

Very fine details and foliage are still rendered best by Silkypix and Photo Ninja but with a bit more noise. However, I find that Photo Ninja is better for landscapes where there is lots of greenery to be rendered.Īdobe Lightroom (current version) is now good enough for 99% of RAW images from Fuji cameras. LR5.5 has Fuji film simulations built-in to the Camera Calibration tab which produce excellent results in most circumstances. So I guess its Capture one for now until something better comes along Photo Nija does a reasonable job but is limited. I dont like how LR5.3 reders the file and ACR is not much better.

I've just the Fuji bandwagon and coming from Nikon its a bit disappointing to see a good raw converter like DXO pro not support the x-trans sensor. I have also used noise ninja and its good, but I prefer my workflow of LR and PS. I do notice that there are issues with pink saturation sometimes on certain shots, but nothing a little local adjustment brush cant fix. Honestly at first, I thought my lightroom 5 was doing a horrible job converting them, but after a while, I really like it. I downloaded Adobe DNG converter and then jsut run through lightroom 3 :)
